Photo Release: Governor Larry Hogan Attends McCormick & Co. New Headquarters Grand Opening
Highlights State’s Commitment to Making Maryland the Best Place for Business
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today attended and delivered remarks at the McCormick & Co. Headquarters Grand Opening in Hunt Valley, Md. The new 350,000 square foot space is a state-of-the-art, LEED Gold designed building that maximizes collaboration spaces and flexible working options for the modern-day labor force. McCormick researched 60 possible sites in three states, but ultimately decided to keep its headquarters and 1,000 jobs in Baltimore County.
“I want to congratulate everyone who has been involved in this exciting achievement for McCormick, for Baltimore County, and for the state of Maryland,” said Governor Hogan. “When I was sworn in as governor four years ago, we committed to doing everything possible to help this iconic 129-year old Maryland company stay and expand in our state. We certainly couldn’t imagine Old Bay being made anywhere else.”
The building includes six floors of modernized work space, test kitchens to research flavors and develop products, an employee cafe with McCormick-owned brands, and culinary classes for all employees.
The building’s construction also incorporated locally-sourced, reclaimed wood and features an indoor green roof with native Maryland plantings. All office furniture is non-toxic, chemical-free, and largely comprised of recycled material. McCormick is also providing compostable serve ware to employees and implementing an advanced waste management system.
