$13.5 Million in Additional Waterway Improvement Fund Grants Awarded to 45 Applicants Across the State
ANNAPOLIS, MD—Following Governor Hogan’s announcement in Ocean City today that the state is providing $15 million to advance MD 90 improvements, he made a series of additional stops throughout the area.
Maryland Municipal League Summer Conference Exhibit Hall. The governor stopped by to visit booths and thank state agencies at the exhibit hall of the Maryland Municipal League Summer Conference, which is hosted at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City.
Floating Islands. Located in Berlin, the “Floating Islands” were created by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and local partners in order to research efforts to preserve three of Maryland’s state endangered colonial nesting waterbirds and create habitats for a variety of colonial nesting bird species.
Earlier today, the Hogan administration announced $13.5 million in additional Waterway Improvement Fund grants to enhance and improve public boating access, facilities, and navigation throughout the state. The funding is awarded to 45 applicants statewide, supporting efforts that include new public boating access, amenities, and facilities; dredging of navigable waterways; emergency vessels and equipment for local first responders; and other important infrastructure and initiatives.
