Dear Friend,
We had so much to be thankful for during the busy month of November! We celebrated the addition of 27,400 jobs since August—the largest three-month gain since 2010—as well as the lowest unemployment rate in 11 years. We also awarded crucial funding to revitalize neighborhoods across our state, honored the service and sacrifices of our brave men and women in uniform, past and present, and moved forward on the transformative redevelopment of the State Center complex in downtown Baltimore.
Quite possibly the biggest news of the month came on November 12, when we announced a historic bipartisan agreement with Virginia to fix the American Legion Bridge and the entire Capital Beltway. A solution like this has eluded leaders for decades, and I’m excited to move forward on addressing the traffic problems in our region. Thank you for your support for this critical initiative.
We also celebrated five years since I was first elected governor of this great state. We promised to change Maryland for the better by fighting for hardworking families and small businesses, standing up to special interest groups, and putting a stop to out-of-control spending, and we have done exactly what we said we were going to do. I promise to continue giving this job everything I’ve got, every single day that I’m given.
The First Lady and I wish you and your family a safe and joyous holiday season!
